The love that I have sought, found me
From the rotten origins I've come, namely man
I indulged in the things of the world all my days
Yet He chose me, and brought me into His plan
Never in my days could I deserve credit
For the mercy He's wrought upon me
And never shall I be declared righteous
Unless through Christ, who imputed it to me
Though my works are as dirty rags
And will never amount
The Spirit works in me to bring glory
To the Father who alone is the living fount
So forever shall I praise Him
For my soul had nothing to give
Yet He saved me from condemnation
And brought me to Himself to live

what brings me back to this blog over and over is when i read bitter cold to be honest. that poem is so awesome, so perfect that i had/have to know the context in which u wrote it. As ive read ur stuff, im beginning to understand. keep it up. oh and michael is one of the greatest young adult writers ive ever met. if he followers you, i sure as heck am too.
i almost forgot. i wrote this poem in response to yours because i was so entranced by it.
"bitter cold"
eager eyes await a pined after image,
hungry for that significance infused vision
to wash over sight and soul.
bitter cold nearly won out
in a gambit of fateful scales
chilling till numb, biting till bloody.
glossy eyes downcast now
see only the sickly crimson patches
cookie cut into the fresh snow.
spirit weary here in the frost
body yields to gravity, relentless
accepting the defeat of the day.
will it be an angel of love or death
that finds it fit to pick up my soul
holding my life in the balance.
how can passion find me here
lying shallow beneath the sky
waiting intently for one or the other to come.
for this heart lies exposed
as an open window to my autumn
letting the auburn leaves blow away.
unfulfilled desire fills my hands
still eager for her return
wishing, searching, fighting still.
bound by that frigid chill
fingers trace the lines
where her name us to be.
yearning to climb that mountain again
only my physical inability stands impassable
leaving only my eyes to scan the heights.
